Autore: Camilla
In Ca' del Lago since forever, and happy mom of two kids!

Almost there! Springtime is coming and Lake Garda is getting ready to welcome the first guests. In spring the amosphere becomes surreal, the medieval villages illuminated by the first warm rays of the sun are even more suggestive. With its 25 picturesque villages, Lake Garda is characterized by historical monuments, castles and fortresses which, together with a temperate climate and lush vegetation, make it a truly unique place.

The Verona Coast of Lake Garda, from North to South

Numerous artists have chosen and choose the shores of Lake Garda as a travel destination: here they find inspiration and their art comes to life. Residence Ca' del Lago  is located in Torri del Benaco, we are in the raised area of the town, surrounded by olive groves. A quiet place not far from the historic center, with a few minutes walk you arrive directly on the lake shore. Fancy a trip? Near Torri del Benaco there are many villages and hamlets not to be missed, let's discover them together.

Are you ready? We tell you the most suggestive places and towns that you can visit along the eastern shore of Lake Garda.

Are you getting married? Choose Malcesine for your wedding

Dominated by the elegant castle, Malcesine is an "enchanted village" where time seems to stand still. Many Italians, but also many foreigners, choose it as a dream location for the wedding. A romantic village that offers unique views of the lake and which has inspired famous personalities including Goethe. The poet-playwright has long praised the village in his writings, but do you know what really happened? Goethe spent a lot of time in Malcesine enchanted by its beauty, in particular he was struck by the Scaliger Castle. He had now decided to paint it when, given the numerous time spent, he was mistaken for a German spy. The little misunderstanding, in the end, became a reason for fame for Malcesine.

Brenzone sul Garda, small and pretty

A day in Brenzone sul Garda is a trip that turns into a mixture of hamlets to visit, as many as 16. We suggest you four of them, that still maintain the architecture of the fishing villages, gathered around the port: Castelletto, Magugnano, Porto and Assenza. These villages are so pretty that, at the same time, they have become the most populated in Brenzone. Do not miss an aperitif in the square among joy and new friends.

Torri del Benaco, some nightlife at Lake Garda

In Torri del Benaco, the charm of the medieval village gathered at the foot of Monte Baldo joins the worldliness of a modern tourist center. The village is dominated by the Scaliger Castle dating back to the 14th century. Not only a castle, inside you can visit the ethnographic museum with sections dedicated to rock engravings, fishing and olive harvesting, as well as a splendid eighteenth-century lemon house. Thanks to the microclimate of Garda, Mediterranean plants are cultivated which color and perfume this territory of northern Italy.

Garda and the Peninsula Punta San Vigilio

Elegant Venetian style buildings, one of the largest beaches of the Riviera degli Olivi and a dense network of narrow streets in the historic center. These are just some of the beauties that make an excursion to Garda an unmissable appointment during your holiday at Residence Ca 'del Lago. The gulf of Garda, enclosed to the north by Monte Luppia forms the enchanting peninsula of Punta San Vigilio, perhaps the most romantic place in all of Lake Garda. To the south, however, the landscape changes. The hill known as Rocca dominates,  you can reach its top through a steep but suggestive path surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation.

Bardolino, wine and events

Bardolino, land of the famous DOC wine that bears his name. Everyone knows it (and drinks it), this wine was born thanks to the presence of a rich and fertile soil combined with the mild climate of Garda. A nice village to visit and that amazes you with its small historic center and the simplicity of a fishing village that still maintains the typical architecture. During the summer there are many events and unmissable events, an example? In June there is the Palio del Chiaretto, a real tasting path of Chiaretto, rosé wine typical of the area. During the holidays there is no shortage of shows dedicated to food, entertainment and music.

Lazise, between stilts and thermal water

lazise.jpg

It is a prestigious location, whose history dates back to the ancient Bronze Age or perhaps even earlier. Its name derives from the Latin "lacus" and means village on the lake, the remains of a large complex of stilts found in the hamlet of Pacengo can still be visited here. Dominated by the imposing construction of the Rocca Scaligera, Lazise is entirely surrounded by a wall that encloses the historic center, today full of restaurants and shops. The buildings overlooking the lake and its narrow streets are somewhat reminiscent of Venice. The other fraction of Lazise is Colà, famous for its large thermal park, where the waters of the subsoil of the lakes reach temperatures of 39 ° C. Pure relaxation!

Peschiera del Garda, cycling to Mantua

A pentagonal fortress city, a jewel of architecture, art and culture. Peschiera is the meeting point between the Alps and the Po Valley and the pile dwelling sites are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Do you like cycling? From Peschiera begins a flat cycle track that runs alongside the Mincio river to Mantua, also suitable for the less trained. An alternative and healthy way to visit a fascinating corner of Garda. You can rent bikes, both ebikes and city bikes directly from us!

Valeggio sul Mincio, plunge yourself in the greenery of Parco Sigurtà

Located in the natural amphitheater of the moraine hills, it bears the signs of the wars of the past in the numerous fortifications and walls. Valeggio sul Mincio is also characterized by an ancient castle overlooking the valley. The walls are still almost intact today and embrace the landscape of the mills. Just in Valeggio is the famous Villa Sigurtá, built on the wonderful Parco Sigurtá dating back to the early 1400s. The park is a green oasis where you can relax and admire the beauty of nature, with the whole family.

Lake Garda is nature, history and art. Each medieval village has its own identity, has a story to tell and enchanting glimpses to discover.
